The News panel

The megaphone icon in the header opens the News panel: FoxPlan news, shipped with the application. This is how you learn that a feature has just landed, that a documentation page has been published or that a video is available.

A badge on the icon shows the number of unread items.

Reading the news​

Each item is a card, most recent first:

  • a category with its icon — Feature, Documentation or Video;
  • the publication date;
  • a title and a few lines of text;
  • a coloured dot in front of the title until it is read.

Two buttons per card:

  • Read marks that item as read;
  • an open button, whose label depends on the category — Read the documentation, Watch the video or Learn more.

The Mark all as read button, at the top of the panel, clears the badge in one go.

Where the open button leads

An item in the Documentation category opens the matching page in your language, directly in the embedded documentation. The others point to an external resource — a blog post, a video.

What you see, and what you don't​

Two rules decide the content of the panel:

  • Nothing older than your account. An item published before your account was created is never offered to you. A newcomer therefore does not discover a pile of news they did not live through.
  • Items expire. An announcement can carry an end date, past which it disappears from the panel — useful for a time-limited campaign.

The panel is personal: the read/unread state belongs to each user, and the content is translated into your interface language.

Not the same as the bell

The bell in the header carries your notifications — what concerns you in your projects (assignments, status changes, comments). The News panel carries product news, identical for everyone. See Notifications.
