Jira connector

The Jira tab establishes a link between FoxPlan and one or more Jira projects. Jira teams keep working in their tool; FoxPlan aggregates planning and budget control.

Settings → Workspace → Jira

Setup

1. Prepare Jira

  • A Jira Cloud or Server URL (e.g. https://your-org.atlassian.net)
  • A technical account with read access to the relevant projects
  • An API token (Jira Cloud → Profile → Security → API tokens)

2. Configure the connector in FoxPlan

  • Jira URL — Jira server address
  • Account / email — Technical account identity
  • API token — Stored encrypted in FoxPlan
  • Projects to synchronize — List of Jira projectKey (e.g. OPS, INFRA, MOB)
  • Sync frequency — Every 15 min, hourly, daily…

Status mapping

You define a mapping between Jira statuses (To Do, In Progress, Done…) and FoxPlan statuses (To do, In progress, Done…). The mapping can vary by project when the Jira workflow is custom.

Best practices

  • Start with a single pilot project to validate the mapping.
  • Synchronize in read-only mode at first: changes stay on the Jira side until teams accept dual editing.
  • Monitor sync errors in the tab's history panel.
