Portfolio definition
The Definition screen opens the project portfolio record. It has several tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| General | Portfolio identity |
| Members | Sharing and roles |
| Projects | Selection of attached projects |
| Custom fields | Additional business attributes (depending on configuration) |
Reached through the Definition / Members menu of a project portfolio.
"General" tab
Configure the portfolio identity:
- Name (required) — Label displayed in the selector and screen titles
- Description — Free text describing the portfolio scope
- Status — Active, dormant, archived
- Color — Visual identifier used in consolidated views
- Sponsor — Portfolio holder (business director, strategic sponsor)
- Classification — Business typology (transformation, run, R&D, compliance…)
The Save button persists the changes. The trash button deletes the portfolio — without affecting the projects themselves.
"Projects" tab
Select the projects composing the portfolio. Two modes:
- Manual selection — Tick the projects one by one in the list
- Dynamic selection (program) — Define a filter (classification = "R&D" + status = "in progress"): any matching project is automatically attached. See Program management for setup.
A project can belong to multiple portfolios (e.g. "R&D 2026" and "All digital projects").
