The Team cards view

The Team cards view is the consolidated Kanban of a resource portfolio: it gathers in a single board all the cards (stories, bugs, actions) from the projects the team is allocated to. It's the ideal tool to steer a team's work beyond a single project.

You reach it from the Team cards menu of a resource portfolio.

Don't mix them up
  • Card & Story — the cards of a single project (project manager's view).
  • Team cards — the cards of all projects of a team, consolidated (resource portfolio view).

If no card is attached to the team, FoxPlan shows: "No card for this team".

The three layouts

This is the view's specificity: three grouping modes, selectable via the toggles in the top right.

LayoutIconGrouping
Combined columnsAll cards in shared status columns, across all projects
By project📂One swimlane per project — to see the workload project by project
By owner👥One swimlane per assignee — to see who does what

The By project mode is specific to the team view: it does not exist in the Card & Story of an individual project.

Search and filter

The toolbar offers the same levers as the project Kanban, widened to the team:

  • Search by card, project or parent task
  • Time filters: +0 (today), +7 (this week), +30 (this month)
  • Cards to be started and Cards to be closed (alert icons) to spot delays at team scale
  • Filter by assignee: click a resource's avatar to show only their cards
  • Favorites: save a combination of filters and layout to recall it in one click

What is this view for?

  • Cross-cutting overview: a team manager sees in one screen everything their resources have to handle, regardless of the project.
  • Balancing: the By owner layout highlights workload imbalances between people.
  • Multi-project tracking: the By project layout shows the relative progress of the team's different projects.
  • Short-term prioritization: the +0 / +7 / +30 filters and delay alerts focus attention on what matters.

Good habit

Start the day in By owner layout with the +0 filter to distribute the day's work, then switch to By project for the multi-project progress check.
